New Year
The start of a calendar
A new page filled with
Obsessive unattainable goals
Written for self-loath
To be hated upon
On the next new year

As if life the year before
Is an accepted destiny
Of unworthy decisions
Living an unwanted life
Lead by submission with no fight
So how will you change?

A New Year
Is just another day
Entering the flow of a routine
Constructed by us
How do we change, if the new year, is just a Tuesday?

The problem are the goals
What are you asking for?
A cure for insecurity?
A recipe for money?
A wand with a spell for a glamorous life?

What do you need?

People wish for the dreams of others
To be the person they see
Paraded through their endless scroll
Of a utopian feed
Hypnotized to believe
They need to walk the red carpet
Of an effortless luck

Life is a web
Of paradox
With feelings that drown other feelings
Actions that recreate routine actions
Of love that consumes past loves
Hate that destroys futures
It is beauty in a crystal slipper
Two worlds colliding into
A DNA of magic

The true wishes
Should be
To beat fear when it forces us to run
To seek happiness even in cruelty
To love with no boundaries
To live the life you want and not the one you are fed
To see beyond
Our basic instincts
To be our dream
In its artistic cliché
