“I wish I could have that life”

“I can never have that, be realistic”

 If you want to be realistic then plan the life you want. What part of your life do you dream with? What do you want to change? Where you live, flourish in the friend department, your dream job, travel way more or something scary like modelling? What you must do is plan these changes. I will explain how you can develop some of your unrealistic dreams.

“I wish I could live in another place”

First thing you must decide is where you want to live. Do you want to live there by working a part time job or continuing with your job? Then you must focus on four things: how you can find a job there, find a room or house, how much money you need to save and if you need a working visa.

Calculate how much you need to go and survive for at least two months. Make a budget so you can save all the money you need. Work for your goal. You will have to compromise some nights out but as the money grows your motivation will follow. A positive point in your favour is that with the Internet there are really good job hunting sites that will help you find what you want. With the technology nowadays everything can be done online from finding a job to interviews. What you must have mind is that sometimes you must compromise for something that is not quite what you want, if your goal is to be in a different place. Once the job hunting has started you must do the same to find a house. Then you must also research the technical factors such as if you need a working visa, how to open a bank account etc.

 “I wish I had more friends”

Quantity is not quality. It is way better to have a friend you can call at the middle of the night to talk about what troubles your mind than 20 that won’t even answer the phone during the day. If what you want is friends that will make you laugh and company then there are ways to make more friends. To be able to make more friends you have to say yes. Go to those parties you ignore sometimes, go hang out with your friends and their friends and remember always to say yes to social outings. If you go to parties, sunsets, talk to people in your hobbies or even at volunteering which actually is a place you can meet a lot of people.

When you are with people you know you must connect and always keep in touch. Remember that when you are talking to new people you need to take interest about what they have to say. Ask them about various things and listen to their stories. Remember not to focus the spotlight on you. When you are meeting someone you are starting over. You can be the best version of yourself, erase your darkness, and have more confidence talking. Talk to them instead of waiting for them to talk to you. Make the first move and talk to them. After you talk always remember to stay in touch. It is important that people feel your presence.

Not always you need to meet new friends, sometimes it’s good to talk again to lost friends. It is also always very important to not let friends go because of lack of attention.

“I really want to travel more… I wish I could…”

It might not be right now but you can do it. Plan your dream trip from the places you want to visit to the to do list when you are there. Organize every little detail of your dream and then calculate how much it will cost you. Print your dream plan with the budget and leave it somewhere you can see everyday. Then budget yourself so you can get there. It might take some time but it´s what you want. You decide the time by the amount of effort and work you put into it.

“I wish I could but people never succeed in that area”

Some areas such as modelling, acting, juggling, being a magician or becoming a painter are pretty scary. It is very hard to succeed – fact! You have two ways to do this. The first way is to make it your hobby. As a part time you must focus, plan and strategize how you can do this. The second way find a different strategy to become what you want or at least a start. Try youtube videos to practice monologues, sing in the street for a public or create accounts in social media for your drawings. Find an original way to start what you want.
